This piece won me an Outstanding Achievement Award at the HOW International Design Awards and a Best in Class Award at the PRINT Typography and Lettering Award.

I made it when I quit my "day job" and took a chance on doing my own thing full time. I wanted to remind myself that it was a scary decision, but that I would rather try and fail, than not to have tried at all. This old lady would not want to think "what if" on her deathbed!

The idea was to take the acronym YOLO (you only live once) and make it in a way that would say, "If you were to die tomorrow you should plan to go out with a BANG! and have no regrets". This is why I made a sort of inappropriate diet stilleben. Cause if I knew I would die tomorrow I would eat cake, bacon, sweets and drink wine!

It took about 26.000 HAMA beads to make YOLO and it measures 180 cm x 50 cm.
